Bend Of The River (1952) Masterfully staged against expansive, rugged locations, conflicted James Stewart seeks redemption from violent past by guiding pioneer settlers to frontier Oregon. Fractured relationships with impulsive Arthur Kennedy and gutsy Julie Adams filtered through gold fever greed and rush of action set pieces.

Burn (2019) Unstable, unpredictable nightshift worker Tilda Cobham-Hervey provides compulsive spark for twisting thriller when petty criminal Josh Hutcherson tries to rob her gas station. Unshowy and confidently handled, narrative eventually slackens and frays, yet never without interest.

Regression (2015) Caught between lurid horror and sociological drama, nervy Emma Watson's claims of abuse by satanic cult contaminate community and mind of righteous detective Ethan Hawke. True story origins are unable to enrich thematic purpose despite efforts of stellar cast.

Diverge (2016) Time traveling from dystopian future, morose Ivan Sandomire is given chance to save wife Erin Cunningham and world by changing his own past. Evocative visuals and sound sell opening desolation, and themes of duality and corporate corruption persuade, yet missing story background dampens risk.

Música (2024) Brimming with infectious energy, hugely enjoyable romantic comedy features clouded Rudy Mancuso who sees musical rhythms in all of life even as he deals with impatient Francesca Reale and embracing Camila Mendes. Despite unsurprising story beats, fluid visuals and appealing leads persevere.

Enter Arsene Lupin (1944) Light comedy sees always compelling Ella Raines initially prey for but ultimately protected by urbane thief Charles Korvin, even as he liberates museum art and attempts to avoid clutches of determined detective J Carroll Naish. Solidly told without aspiring beyond genial wordplay.

You're My Everything (1949) Colorful family drama mirrors changes in early movie making, with screen natural Anne Baxter a star during end of silent era, energetic Dan Dailey featured in musicals craze, and their daughter a child star in mid-1930s. Uneven structure doesn't diminish charm of cast.
