To All The Boys I've Loved Before (2018) After messily considerate Lana Condor's innocent childhood love letters are revealed, she agrees to fake relationship with genially uncomplicated Noah Centineo to make other partners jealous. Widescreen sweep and endearing performers realize bright comedy and romantic leap.

To All the Boys: P.S. I Still Love You (2020) Continuing anxious dreamer Lana Condor's high school romance as return of former crush Jordan Fisher sees her question relationship with reliable Noah Centineo. Though central narrative treads water and rhythms are uncertain, character ensemble maintains engaging blend of comedy and drama.

To All the Boys: Always And Forever (2021) Third installment sees unsure Lana Condor facing future college and romantic decisions, while rounding out characters during prom and wedding festivities. Halting interlude of New York realization doesn't detract from smooth production and emotion of dramatically satisfying conclusion.

Nocturne (2020) Studied visual and aural design maintains intrigue of supernatural promise against disintegrating mind, with consumed Sydney Sweeney determined to best her confident sister Madison Iseman as music school's lead pianist. Amid edgy confusion, not quite achieving emotional crescendo.

Planet Of The Apes (1968) Driven by robust visuals and intense Jerry Goldsmith score, belligerent astronaut Charlton Heston crash lands on planet where apes rule and humans are mutes hunted for sport and science. Kim Hunter and Roddy McDowall provide distinct characters beneath makeup, while theme of humanity is gripping foundation for exciting sci-fi action.

Beneath The Planet Of The Apes (1970) Produced with rugged professionalism, rerun of original sees incredulous James Franciscus chased by violent gorillas while uncovering human doomsday cult with telepathic powers. Intriguing post-apocalyptical setting informs brutal, action-orientated story with surprisingly bleak ending.

Escape From The Planet Of The Apes (1971) Lighter tone initially permeates as Kim Hunter and Roddy McDowall's sympathetic scientist chimpanzees evade end of world by time traveling to 20th Century Los Angeles. Despite flat visuals, themes of prejudice and racism emerge while plotting sets up future evolution.

The Graduate (1967) Distinctively conceived satire on affluent society's emotional sterility sees recent college graduate, self-absorbed Dustin Hoffman embark on affair with bitter, lonely Anne Bancroft, before falling for her ingenuous daughter Katherine Ross. Faltering final act resolves with romantic rush and resonant, ambivalent conclusion.

Hommage à l'amour (2020) Best when staging and performers play loose, less successful when narrative and theme are more rigidly self-conscious. Insecure writer Anthony Vazquez spirals through relationships with spirited Léa Catania and careful Ashton Solecki with intermittently involving results.
