Anyone But You (2023) Soft play on Shakespeare is energized by leads Sydney Sweeney and Glen Powell, committed to broad laughs as well as romance when dislike transforms to attraction at Australian wedding. Despite shaggy story beats, smooth production and solidly old fashioned sweep wins out.

Space Cadet (2024) Rapidly disintegrating concept never quite embraces absurd potential, as exuberant party girl Emma Roberts realizes sacrificed dream of joining NASA astronaut program. Lacking needed comic tension and momentum, characters fizzle amid awkward staging and plain visuals.

Like Father (2018) After work-consumed Kristen Bell's wedding day implodes, a drunken evening with estranged father Kelsey Grammer sees them regret impulsively going on her honeymoon cruise. Handling the light comedy and emotion, leads prove winning presence for entirely predictable life-lessons.

Good On Paper (2021) Driven by stand-up comic Iliza Shlesinger's appealing insecurities and anxious ambition, romance with awkward Ryan Hansen blooms, until suspicion of his true character surfaces. Themes of identity and projection as romance sours, told with verve and consistent laughs.

Love Is In The Air (2023) Attractive locations and leads as genial Joshua Sasses is sent to Australia by investment company to dismantle Delta Goodrem's community-minded, single seaplane airline. Not remotely believable, generally agreeable romantic games and character building story twists flag badly by throwaway end.

No Escape (2015) Exercise in brutal action sees Owen Wilson and Lake Bell along with two daughters trying to escape indiscriminate violence when they're caught in Asian revolution. Solidly staged B-movie aesthetic disposes of background texture, sustaining momentum even as chase loses plausibility and cohesive tension.

Take Me Home Tonight (2011) Resolutely unfunny riff on 1980s teen comedies has drifting college grad Topher Grace pursuing high school crush Teresa Palmer at raucous party held by twin sister Anna Faris' crass boyfriend Chris Pratt. Polished production and soundtrack leaves game cast straining for empathy.

Leap Year (2010) Mining every imaginable Irish stereotype and delivering uninspired story mechanics, Amy Adams' charm and truth almost single-handedly redeems plot that sends her across Atlantic to surprise boyfriend with proposal. Fluid style amid glossy locations, as personal growth and inevitable sparks develop with local Matthew Goode.

Irish Wish (2023) Trading in disposable whimsy, insecure book editor Lindsay Lohan is granted alternate timeline to realize romantic dream until fate introduces principled photographer Ed Speleers and allows her to gain confidence. Messy, unpersuasive storytelling, though the leads have a spark that is easy.

Ghostbusters Frozen Empire (2024) Pacy adventure crams in plenty of characters and plot without proper focus, as frustrated McKenna Grace is tricked into releasing ice demon intent on releasing army of ghosts. Rush of incident maintains interest and nostalgia, yet lacks defining humor and misses dramatic tension.

Obsessed (2009) Lackluster thriller sees successful, happily married Idris Elba's life is sabotaged by unhinged assistant Ali Larter and doubted by suspicious wife Beyoncé. Initially intriguing sexual politics unravels with undeveloped melodrama, resolved only with blistering female fight.
