Líbánky (Honeymoon) (2013) Elegantly designed visuals and vivid wedding celebrations gradually undone by dark revelations and prejudice as sympathetic bride Anna Geislerová learns gruff husband Stanislav Majer's past secret from unnerving stranger Jiří Černý. Thriller edge and shades of satire  conspire with acidic sense of character.

Nareul Itji Malayo (Remember You) (2016) Poignant reflection on loss and past guilt, lawyer Jung Woo-sung has no memories of previous ten years until spontaneous relationship with emotional Kim Ha-neul opens up echoes of pain and mystery. Narrative twists highlight melodrama and broken souls.

Neoui Gyeolhonsik (On Your Wedding Day) (2018) Initially establishing lighter comic tone of teenage attraction between decisive Park Bo-young and besotted Kim Young-kwang, narrative reaches for more substantive emotion over following years. Bittersweet resolution ties up compelling episodes of love and friendship.

Blue Beetle (2023) Breezy pacing and appealingly established family accentuates comic flavors as optimistic graduate Xolo Maridueña returns home to frustrated opportunities until ancient, alien amulet gives him superpowers. Polished visuals yet narrative devolves into visual effects confusion.

Escape Room (2019) Six strangers lured by prospect of financial prize seek to endure puzzles in various fiendishly designed rooms before quickly realizing failure to progress means death. Energetic cast sweat and scream through the various threats, yet polished telling is anodyne and lacking in gritty tension.

Misery (1990) Crafted with wicked sense of unease, successful but frustrated author James Caan is rescued from icy car crash by self-proclaimed number one fan Kathy Bates, who doesn't take long to betray unhinged personality. Pacing and visuals aid intense performances to conceive suspense that builds to bursts of violence.
