Finding its rhythm with energetic comedy and fluid action, rush of emotion courses through winning characters.
Sore Istri dari Masa Depan (Sore A Wife from the Future) (2025) Artfully paced and structured, assured Sheila Dara Aisha enters unconfident photographer Dion Wiyoko's life claiming they are destined to be partners and resolved to guide his success. Time loop repetition undermined by tonal clashes, though conclusion features emotive surge.
Sampai Titik Terakhirmu (Until The Last Of You) (2025) Light touch of appealing romance between sensitive, struggling Arbani Yasiz and outgoing, athletic Mawar de Jongh transforms to blunt, emotional tragedy when she receives cancer diagnosis. Shamelessly manipulative storytelling resolves with persuasive conviction.
Song Sung Blue (2025) Equal parts genial and dark, true life story sold by amiable cast, with soulful Kate Hudson and dominant Hugh Jackman interpreting Neil Diamond music as popular Midwest duo Lighting and Thunder. Overlong though effective highs and lows allow for succession of tuneful songs delivered with crowd-pleasing swagger.
The Housemaid (2025) Enjoyably unrefined melodrama turns up character heat from outset as desperate ex-con Sydney Sweeney takes increasingly demeaning job in unstable Amanda Seyfried's home and battles attraction for wealthy, attentive husband Brandon Sklenar. Misses snarling humor amid expected juicy twists.
Xiao shi de ta (Lost In The Stars) (2022) Enticing, stylish visuals and setup find anguished Zhu Yilong in threatening Southeast Asia, where dangerous Janice Man claims to be his missing wife. Cynical lawyer Ni Ni helps with increasingly whiplash developments, unravelling tension that final twists are unable to resolve.
Eternity (2025) Affectionate throwback nimbly balances comic fantasy while deepening romantic dilemma for Elizabeth Olsen who must decide on whether to spend the afterlife with longtime husband Miles Teller or romantic ideal Callum Tuner. Though design provides little new, engaging cast and playful David Fleming score deliver energy and concluding emotion.
